INDIAN COAST GUARD ORAGNIZED MOTORCYCLE RALLY TO COMMEMORATE 75 TH INDEPENDENCE DAY AZADI KA AMRUT MAHOTSAV

Odisha Tazanews (25/6/2022) BBSR :- Indian Coast Guard is commemorating Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav in Odisha by organizing a motorcycle rally consisting of 75 riders along with Indian Coast Guard IOCL, CRPF , CISF, Marine Fisheries, Marine Police , NCB also participating in the event. The rally was flagged off by Shri Pradeep Kumar Jena , IAS, MD State Disaster Management at Bhubaneswar.

The aim is to spread awareness on Various GoI flagship programmes in coastal areas of Odisha and to expand camaraderie with people staying in fishing hamlets. The rally will cover approximately 140 kms. The bikers will conduct Community interaction Programme at Puri and Chandrabhaga. During this they will interact with the fishing community and conduct awareness programmes,

such as sensitising them to carry life jackets, essential documents of boat/crew etc vis-a-vis basic seaman practices. This effort was aimed at sensitizing the coastal population and fishermen on safety, security, and environmental issues at sea. In addition these efforts will aim at integrating the fisher folks and Coastal population with maritime security mechanism and to strengthen Coastal Security Network.
