Bhubaneswar (Odisha Tazanews) :- On the occasion of World Heart Day, Utkal Hospital,Niladri Vihar,Bhubaneswar organised a special Heart Health Awareness Session at its auditorium this morning, with around 100 retired employees of the State Bank of India (SBI) participating in the programme.

The awareness session focused on the importance of early recognition of heart-related symptoms, preventive healthcare, healthy lifestyle practices and timely medical consultation. A team of eminent specialists from Utkal Hospital interacted with the participants and addressed their queries related to heart health.
The expert panel included Dr. Sanat Kumar Sahoo, Senior Consultant, Interventional Cardiology; Dr. Susant Pradhan, Senior Consultant, Interventional Cardiology; Dr. Manabhanjan Jena, Senior Consultant, Interventional Cardiology; Dr. Binaya Bhusan Binakar, Senior Consultant, Interventional Cardiology; and Dr. Chandra Bhanu Parija, Director & Senior Consultant, CTVS.

The cardiologists delivered informative talks on various aspects of cardiovascular health and highlighted the importance of recognising warning signs at an early stage. They also answered several heart-health-related questions from the participants.
Experts from other specialties of Utkal Hospital also joined the programme and shared valuable health advice. Dr. Dibya Singha Das, Senior Consultant in Orthopaedics Robotics Joint Replacement & Sports Medicine,Dr. Biswajit Nanda, Urologist, Andrologist & Kidney Transplant Surgeon; and Ms. Sonali Tripathi, Dietician, spoke on issues relating to bone and joint health, urological and kidney health, nutrition and healthy dietary practices.
The programme was organised in the spirit of this year’s global “Don’t Miss a Beat” campaign, which encourages people to recognise symptoms, take timely action and make heart health a priority. The initiative also underlines the importance of not ignoring or dismissing symptoms that could indicate cardiovascular problems.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman of Utkal Hospital, Dr. Aditya Kumar Samal, said that creating awareness and promoting preventive healthcare are essential components of building a healthier society. Dr. Samal, a renowned invasive cardiologist with extensive professional experience in Houston, Texas, USA, has been working towards bringing world-class healthcare facilities and advanced medical technology to Odisha.
Managing Director Dr. Pragyan Ranjan Ghadei and Chief Executive Officer Mr. B. K. Subodh Singh also emphasised the importance of community-oriented health awareness initiatives and encouraged people to undergo regular health check-ups and seek expert medical advice whenever required.
The programme concluded with an interactive session, during which the retired SBI employees actively participated and discussed their health concerns with the specialists.
