Bribery exposed in Pune Zilla Parishad: One engineer suspended, action against two senior officials prepared

Chief Executive Officer Gajanan Patil has suspended Junior Engineer Anjali Bagade with immediate effect. Also, a proposal for suspension of Executive Engineer Baburao Krishna Pawar and Deputy Engineer Dattatreya Bhagwanrao Pathare has been sent to the Superintendent Engineer of the Public Works Department. The Anti-Corruption Bureau, acting on a complaint of bribery from government officials, arrested three officials red-handed. The officials concerned had demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs 1.5 lakh from a contractor. After that, they were arrested after laying a trap. According to government rules, there is a provision to suspend officers who are in police custody for more than 24 hours.
