27 January 2024 (Odisha Tazanews) Mumbai :- Manoj Jarange Patil had been fighting for the demand of reservation for the Maratha community for many days. Jarange had warned that he would not leave Mumbai until the GR of reservation for the Maratha community was passed. Against this backdrop, the state government has agreed to the demands of Jarange by withdrawing the GR (Maratha Reservation GR) on January 27 at 3 midnight. Jarange will end their fast in the presence of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde at 8 am today.
The Maratha community has entered Navi Mumbai under the leadership of Manoj Jarange Patil for Maratha reservation. Today there was a discussion between government officials and Maratha community leaders in Vashi. After this discussion, Jarange Patil made some demands to the government. One of the most important demands was to issue a letter of certification to the attendants. A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde to take a decision in this regard. A new ordinance has been passed in this meeting which lasted for about three and a half hours.
The meeting was attended by Mumbai Guardian Minister Deepak Kesarkar, Mumbai Suburbs Guardian Minister Mangalprabhat Lodha and Mumbai Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar along with senior police officers and Social Justice Department Secretary Sumant Bhange. As per the demand of Maratha community leader Manoj Jarange Patil, a meeting regarding the preparation of a new ordinance by the government was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde at his residence in Varsha.
The new ordinance was conveyed to Jarange Patil early in the morning.In accordance with the demands made by Manoj Jarange Patil, the state government delegation left for Vashi with a new ordinance. In this delegation, Secretary of Social Justice Department Sumant Bhange, Divisional Commissioner of Aurangabad Madhukar Arangal and Private Secretary of Chief Minister’s Office Dr. Amol Shinde and officials of Social Justice Department.
