Panchayat PEO Has Been Apprehended By Odisha Vigilance : Berhampur

Odisha Tazanews (30.06.2022) Ganjam/Berhampur :– at 9.55 AM, Sri Rajendra Kumar Behera, PEO, Turubudi GP, Patrapur Block, Dist-Ganjam has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) Rs.6,000/- from a Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramina (PMAYG) beneficiary towards release of last instalment of Rs.30,000/- in connection with construction of house under PMAYG, already completed by her (complt) during year 2020-22.

The entire bribe money has been recovered and seized from the exclusive possession of the accused Sri Behera. Following trap, simultaneous searches at residential house of accused Sri Rajendra Kumar Behera at village Banamali, PS-K. Nuagaon, Dist- Ganjam, rented house at Laxmi Vihar, 1st lane, Berhampur, PS-Bada Bazar and his office are being conducted.

In this connection, Berhampur Vigilance P.S. Case No.10 dt.29.06.2022 U/s 7 P.C. Act 1988 as amended by P.C. (Amndt.) Act 2018 has been registered. Investigation in progress against Sri Behera.
