Pune (Odisha Tazanews) Pune :- Shailesh Chavan was unanimously elected as the Pune City President in the general meeting of the Pune city workers of the Republican Party of India (Athawale). Many important resolutions were passed in this meeting, which was held under the chairmanship of Pune City In-charge Shailendra Chavan.

This meeting had acquired special significance in the backdrop of the discontent that arose in the party after the Pune Municipal Corporation elections. Expressing strong discontent, the workers moved a no-confidence motion against the then city president, which was passed by a majority. After that, the concerned office bearers were relieved of their duties and Shailesh Chavan was elected as the city president.
The meeting passed a resolution congratulating Ramdas Athawale on his election to the Rajya Sabha for the third time. A resolution to thank the ally Bharatiya Janata Party was also passed at this time. At the beginning of the meeting, tributes were paid to the late Republican leader Jagannath Gaikwad. Then a resolution congratulating the newly elected corporators was passed.
Corporator Himali Kamble was felicitated for being elected as the group leader in the Municipal Corporation, while Nilesh Alhat was felicitated for being elected as a corporator. Maharashtra State Vice President Rohidas Gaikwad, Asit Gangurde, State Member Ashok Shirole,
Ashok Kamble, West Maharashtra Vice President Baburao Ghadge, Mahendra Kamble, Minority Alliance President Rafiq Dafedar, Bhagwan Gaikwad as well as Core Committee Members Vasant Bansode, Mahadev Dandi, Mahadev Kamble, Sugat Dhasade and many office bearers and activists were present in large numbers at this meeting.
Maharashtra state member Ashok Kamble read out the resolution, while Ashok Shirole moderated the meeting. Pune city general secretary Mahadev Kamble proposed a vote of thanks. Office bearers from various constituencies of the city, ward presidents and heads of various alliances were also present in large numbers on this occasion.
