‘Silk India’ exhibition begins at Hotel Prachi Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar (Odisha Tazanews ) :-  With the arrival of the festive and wedding season, Odisha Art and Craft is once again ready to captivate the people of Bhubaneswar with its Silk India Exhibition. With the aim of offering a wide range of silk sarees suitable for wedding ceremonies and various other occasions at one place, Odisha Art and Craft has organized the Silk India Exhibition at Hotel Prachi, Janpath, Bhubaneswar.

This ten-day exhibition offers customers a variety of special sarees and dress materials ideal for festivals and weddings. Handloom sarees from 13 states are the main attraction of the exhibition. After the inauguration, models showcased sarees designed by more than 150 weavers and designers from across India through a graceful ramp walk. Speaking on the occasion, Manas Acharya,

Managing Director of Odisha Art and Craft, said that the organization has been working continuously for several years to keep the traditional art of silk weaving alive. He added that a wide variety of silk collections created by weavers and designers from different parts of the country are being displayed at the exhibition.

Manas Acharya further informed that the exhibition is being held from January 23 to February 1, 2026, and will remain open daily from 10:30 am to 8:30 pm. The Silk India Exhibition presents an enchanting collection of popular silk sarees and dress materials from various regions of the country. Each saree and dress material on display is unique and captivating in its own way.

He said that more than 80 stalls have been set up at the exhibition, offering silk sarees, suits, dress materials, stoles, kurtis, dupattas, kurtas, footwear, and home décor items. Visitors will get to see an excellent collection of famous silk sarees from different states, including Sambalpuri Ikat silk from Odisha, organic  Tussar silk from Bihar, Muga and Eri silk from Assam, crepe, georgette and Arani silk from Karnataka,

Kanchipuram silk from Tamil Nadu, Mulberry, Jamawar and Jamdani silk from Uttar Pradesh, Kosa silk from Chhattisgarh, Chinar and Tedi silk from Jammu & Kashmir, Kota silk from Rajasthan, Phulkari dresses from Punjab, along with silk and dress materials from many other states. He also mentioned that special discounts are being offered on silk sarees. Entry is free, and all online payment facilities are available at the venue.
