Contract employees are being lured with ‘permanent’ jobs : Municipal Corporation warns – “Beware of fraud”

Pune (Odisha Tazanews) Pune :-> Pune Representative- Cases of financial fraud being exposed in Pune Municipal Corporation under the lure of hiring contract workers on a permanent basis are being revealed. Against this backdrop, the Municipal Corporation has taken a clear stand in this regard and appealed to the employees to be careful. The Municipal Corporation has clarified in an official circular that contract workers will not be made permanent in the service of the Municipal Corporation.

The circular issued by the Deputy Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation’s Solid Waste Management Department, Sandeep Kadam, states that, “Sanitation workers appointed by contractors are appointed only for a limited period. There is currently no plan or proposal to make them permanent.”

The Municipal Corporation has received complaints that some people are being taken money from employees involved in road cleaning work carried out by contractors in various wards of the Municipal Corporation by telling them, “You will be made permanent.” A similar case was exposed in the Sinhagad Road Regional Office a few months ago. The Municipal Corporation’s Additional Commissioner Prithviraj B.P. ordered an inquiry into this. A detailed report has been submitted thereafter.

What should be done to avoid fraud ?

The municipality has clarified that if any person is found to be taking money in the name of getting a “permanent job”, the concerned employees should immediately contact the solid waste department or the official office of the municipal corporation. It has also been warned that strict action will be taken against those who make false promises in the name of the municipal corporation.

Important :

Currently, there is no proposal to make contractual sanitation workers permanent in the municipal corporation.

If any person asks for money,

immediately report it. Be vigilant to avoid fraud. “If anyone asks for money by promising to make you permanent in the municipal corporation, inform them immediately. Such types of fraud lead to financial fraud of employees. Do not fall prey to anyone.”
