Pune (Odisha Tazanews) Pune :-> Four unidentified robbers robbed a well-known jewelery shop in the city’s Dhaari area around 2.30 pm today. They robbed 25 tolas of gold ornaments in just five minutes, brandishing a plastic toy pistol. This incident has created a stir in the area and the police have immediately started an investigation.

As soon as these unknown men entered the shop, they showed plastic pistols in their hands and threatened the employees and customers. Due to their terror, no one dared to resist. In five minutes, they picked up 25 tolas of gold ornaments from the shop’s showcase and fled the scene.
CCTV captures the horror
The entire incident was captured by the CCTV cameras in the shop. Based on this footage, the police have started an investigation and have also seized footage from other cameras in the area. Police said that preliminary investigation has revealed that the pistols used are made of plastic. The employees and customers were scared as they looked real.
Urgent action by the police
A team from Faraskhana police station has reached the spot, and Pune Police Commissioner Ritesh Kumar informed that special teams have been formed. “We are investigating based on the CCTV footage. We will soon arrest the accused and get back the looted jewellery,” he said.
Atmosphere of fear among traders
After this incident, an atmosphere of fear has arisen among traders and citizens in the Dhayari area. Local traders’ association president Vijay Patil expressed strong displeasure over this and demanded that the police take strict measures immediately.
Signs of an increase in crime ?
In the last few months, there has been an increase in incidents of robbery and theft in Pune. Experts have speculated that youth are turning to crime due to unemployment and financial difficulties. However, police say that creating terror through plastic toys is a new method.
Citizens urged to be vigilant
The police have appealed to citizens to immediately provide information about suspicious persons or vehicles and have advised traders to increase security arrangements. Some shops have decided to deploy private security guards.
