24th January 2024 (Odisha Tazanews) Bhubaneswar :-> After the observance of the Pani Panchayat Pakhya,2024 in 117 Divisions of the State on 16 th January, 2024, the Pakhya has been observed the second phase across 30 districts of the State on 24 th January, 2024. The Pakhya gives us an opportunity to acknowledge the immense contribution being made by the Pani Panchayats and farmers in the water sector and to generate awareness amongst the stakeholders, across levels to be more aware about various facets of water governance.

The Pani Panchayat Raths, carrying Information Education Communication/Social Behavioural Change Communication (IEC/SBCC) materials and audio visuals, have in the meanwhile, after covering the projects, divisions and prominent places of the district, returned to the district headquarters on 24 th January, 2024. Banners, brochures, logo, slogan, tagline, anthem, oath etc. were also shared to make the Pakhya eventful and participatory.
Districts hold Pani Panchayat Samabesha in presence of Pani Panchayat members, farmers and other important stakeholders. Exhibitions are also conducted in convergence with the District Level Mela on Farm Mechanisation being held by Department of Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment. The winners from various activities such as debate, essay, painting, quiz, exhibition of Model competitions also awarded.

One Pani Panchayat from each District also awarded for formulation and implementation of “Integrated Irrigation and Agriculture Plan (IIAP). On this occasion Smt. Tukuni Sahu, Hon’ble Minister, Water Resources, Commerce Transport, Odisha at Bolangir District; Sri Pradip Kumar Amat, Hon’ble Minister, Panchayat Raj & Drinking Water,I & PR at Boudh; Mrs.
Rita Sahu, Hon’ble Minister, Handloom & Textiles at Bargarh graced the district level function of the Pakhya. Hon'ble MLA Bargarh and Chairman of District Panning Coordination Mr. Debesh Acharya, ZP president, Block Vice- chairman, and Engineers of Irrigation Divisions of Bargarh present in the programme at Bargarh.

District Level Pani Panchayat Celebration has been also held at Sundargarh in presence of Chief guest Hon’ble Minister labour and ESI Sj.Sarada Prasad Nayak, ZP President Smt.Kunti Pradhan, Honble MLA Talsara Bhawani Bhoi and Honble MLA Sundergarh Smt Kusum Tete . Besides, MP, Aska; MLAs, Chhatrapur, and Brahmapur; Dhenkanal; Sonepur; Patangi; Nimapada; Khorda; Puri, Ranpur, Niali, Keonjhar; Jharsuguda including Collectors of respective district were also present in the district level function of the Pani Panchayat Fortnight held.
