The Kujang police caught the culprit within 24 hours of the complaint

22th Sept 2023 (Odisha Tazanews) Kujang :-> Kujanga PS Case number 429/2023 U/S: 394/354 IPC. On 20/9/2023 at about 11 PM, one person of Ersama PS area had been returning to his house from Paradeep after watching Biswakarma puja. His wife and 06 year old daughter were sitting on his bike. Four miscreants namely Jitendra Pothal, Satyabrata Gochhyat, chandrakanta Jagmohan Gochhyat, all three are of Tentulia and Shrabana Sathpathy of Janardanpur. Followed the informant by a bullet motorcycle and Pulsar Motor cycle. They 04 waylaid the informant at a lonely place at Punjabi Chowk- Baleipur road and snatched his money purse and mobile phone.

They compelled the informant to pay money through phone pay account. The 04 miscreants also assaulted and manhandled his wife as a result she sustained injury. Same time one car was coming in that way, seeing the arrival of that car, the 04 miscreants fled the spot. After receipt of information at PS, Kujanga police took swift action and adopting technical surveillance, kujanga police team identified and arrested the 04 culprits from different places at Paradeep locality.

After committing the offence that night, they again had been to Paradeep and were planning for another such occurrence. Police is suspecting that this Gang targets lonely male and female persons who move alone in motorcycles in late night. We are verifying their other involvements in Paradeep and Lock PS area. The 04 accused persons have been arrested and been forwarded to court. Two bikes have been seized from them. The robbed purse and the stolen money have been seized and been left in zima to the informant.
