1th,May 2023 (Odisha Tazanews) Bhubaneswar :- Banks have been urged to share transaction data on Social Security Pension given by Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (SSEPD). In a Bankers meet issues regarding easy monitoring of transaction were discussed. Sri Bhaskar Sarma, Secretary, SSEPD Department presiding over the meeting raised concern over inconveniences faced by DBT paid beneficiaries during cash withdrawal at BC points due to failure in Aadhaar authentication.
It was highlighted that banks can fetch the data of DBT failure instances through Aadhaar both in cases of National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP) and Madhu Babu Pension Yojana (MBPY) as all DBT transactions are registered in bank server with Aadhaar and such failure data will be shared with the Department on real time basis for monitoring.
Banks will compile information of failures of withdrawal due to Aadhaar authentication for the day by the end of the day with SSEPD Department. Banks will ensure that these beneficiaries are paid their pension through withdrawal slip at their door step within the next 24 hours. Further Aadhaar particulars of such beneficiaries will be rectified within the next 15 days to ensure payment in the next month.
All banks agreed to share transaction data with the Department which shall be carried to the dashboard later for easy monitoring. Smt. Bratati Harichandan, Director, SSEPD was also present in the meeting. Convener, State Level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC), Deputy General Manager (Govt. Business), State Bank of India and representatives ICICI Bank, YES Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, UCO Bank, PNB, Utkal Grameen Bank, Indian Bank, Bank of India, AXIS Bank etc. participated in the meeting.
