Pune (Odisha Tazanews) Pune :- Citizens are currently suffering in the Kalwad settlement within the limits of the Pune Municipal Corporation, which claims to be a developed city. But this crisis is not natural but is completely the result of the planned inefficiency of the electricity company (MECB).

Inexcusable delay and technical ignorance Were the officials of the electricity company sleeping despite the fact that the population and citizens have increased in the Kalwad area for the past several years? In a densely populated area, even today, they are playing with the lives of citizens by installing a transformer of only 200 kV (KV) less than its capacity.
When the citizens’ lives have become difficult due to frequent power outages and transformer burns, the people’s representatives had to storm the Rafikbhai Sheikh office to wake up the administration, this is the biggest failure of this company.
Exposed wires and life-threatening negligence It is not just the issue of power outages, but the tangle of wires hanging in the alleys and the transformers is an invitation to death. In many places, these high-voltage (HT) wires have reached the galleries of houses.
Despite knowing all this, why was the underground cabling work stopped? In case of technical failure, the officials are not immediately available and the citizens have to stay in the dark for hours, who is responsible for this? Policy of evading responsibility .
The most infuriating thing is that instead of improving their own infrastructure, the officials of the power company are giving advice to the public. The company is trying to shirk its responsibility by giving strange advice like “Don’t install water motors”, “Don’t use induction”. Citizens pay their electricity bills regularly, so isn’t it the company’s duty to provide them with the electricity they need? Will there be any improvement now?
After warning of protests, the carrot of installing a 315 kV transformer is now being shown. But this work needs to be completed immediately, not just on paper. Also, the practice of misleading honest consumers by citing unauthorized connections should stop. If the electricity problem in Kalwad is not permanently resolved in the coming days, then the power company should be prepared to bear the ‘shock’ of the angry public.
