17th April 2023 (Odisha Tazanews) SUBARNAPUR :- The laying of the foundation stone for the construction of left side flood protection barrier on the left side of theTel river by the irrigation Department of Odisha, under the supervision of the Minister of Finance and Parliamentary Affairs, Health and Family Welfare, Odisha Mr. Niranjan Pujari, has been held on the banks of the Lower River by the Water Resources Department of Odisha Government. m. 00 to 6000 m. 15.11 crore has been blocked by the Irrigation Department of Odisha Government for the flood protection dam construction project to be built up to 12 crore 73 lakh rupees. Special protection of the crops produced in 12300 hectares of valuable agricultural land of Gatarkela,
Kustapali, Janmura, Baldapali, Haldipali Mauza under Sonepur Block area will help to ensure the loss of livelihood of around 55000 population from possible floods and also help in controlling the rise in temperature in the area. This 11 meter wide high flood embankment will play a major role in the rapid population of Sonpur city and the development of the district. In the future, the ring road will be arranged through this embankment. As a result, the project will be smooth, easy and systematic with the movement of the city and the district. Hon’ble Minister Mr. Pujari said that it is a milestone in the development of the district. Also, the Organ Irrigation Project program has been accelerated for the all-round development of the district and the progress of agriculture and farmers, so that the people of the district can avail the facilities of the project in a few days.
