Faridabad (Odisha Tazanews) :- A free health camp was recently hosted by Rashtriya Prabasi Odia Paribar (RPOP) at Faridabad. Organised in the premises of Jagannath Temple at Faridabad with the cooperation of Premier Charitable Organisation I Can Care and the Jagannath Temple, Faridabad, detailed health check-ups were conducted for hundreds of Odia and non-Odia people in this camp.
During this occasion, the participants were made aware about the harmful effects of tobacco consumption, especially the dangers of oral cancer. The camp was inaugurated by President of Rashtriya Prabasi Odia Paribar Minaketan Samal,President of the Jagannath Temple, Faridabad Nityananda Raut and Director of I Can Care and a renowned cancer specialist Dr. Pawan Gupta. A six-member medical team from I Can Care under the stewardship of Dr Pawan Gupta managed the camp.
In this one-day long health camp, oral examinations were conducted for 80 number of people. Among them, early symptoms of infections were detected in 14 cases. Explaining about the hazards of tobacco Dr. Pawan Gupta advised them to stay away from tobacco consumption and informed various methods of quitting this addiction. In addition, blood pressure and diabetes tests were also done for a large number of participants.Required Medicines were distributed among patients free of cost.
Addressing the gathering, the chief guest, senior administrator Sanjeeb Patjoshi, stressed on the need for collective efforts from all sections of society to keep the younger generation away from tobacco consumption. Guest of Honour Chief Editor of Udaya India Group, Deepak Kumar Rath, profusely praised the hosting of such public welfare and social awareness programmes. The main organiser, President of RPOP Minaketan Samal,
announced that similar health camps and social awareness programmes would be organised in various areas of Delhi in the coming days. The programme was co-ordinated by Senior member of RPOP Advocate Amiya Ranjan Nayak. General Secretary of the Jagannath Temple, Faridabad,Anil Kumar Sahu proposed vote of thanks. The Camp was successfully held under the active supervision of outstanding organising team of RPOP like President Minaketan Samal,
Vice-Presidents Nityananda Raut and Sarita Mahapatra, General Secretary Anil Jena, Joint Secretaries Gurucharan Pohi and Subhranshu Behera, Treasurer Sandeep Mahapatra, Joint Treasurer Manoj Sahu alongwith former executive body members general members and Vice-President of Jagannath Temple at Faridabad Subhas Nayak. Prasad was arranged by the temple authorities for the guests and participants at the end of the programme.
