New Delhi (Odisha Tazanews) :- India’s premier philanthropic and social organisation Suryakheetra Foundation of Educational & Charitable Trust (SKFECT) hosted the National Conclave on “Climate Change : Challenges & Opportunities” at New Delhi with much pomp and massive fanfare.

The Mega Summit was attended by leading policymakers, scientists, environmentalists, industry captains, academicians and social leaders. The Grand Convention witnessed day long marathon deliberation on innovative solutions for climate change, environmental conservation and sustainable development.

Prestigious 5th Paribesh Ratna Sammans 2026 were conferred upon 21 distinguished environmentalists, social leaders and institutions from across Country in recognition of their outstanding contribution in the field of environmental protection and climate awareness during the occasion.

The awardees include Ravinder Nath Pradhan, Kishore Dwibedi, Dr. Ashutosh Tripathi, Er. Sushanta Kumar Mohapatra, Dr. Madhusmita Das, Richa Pathak, Deepak kumar Rath, Er. Akshay Kumar Samal, Bandana Sahu, Biswanath Gurudutta, Syed Ishaq,

Dr. Srikanta Kumar Panigrahi, Sanjay Mishra, KMV Projects Limited, Jyotsna Rani Routray, Bijaya Nabami, Reeta Patra, Gobardhan Dhal, Prabir Kumar Mohanty, Ajaya Kumar Behera and Mahakankhya Welfare Foundation.

Gracing the Conclave Chief Guest Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Jual Oram profusely praised the noble initiatives of Suryakheetra Foundation under the able and active stewardships of its Founders Dr Bipin Bihari Mishra and Dr Sukanti Mishra for protection of environment and sensitisation regarding climate change across the country.

Delivering his speech, Chief Speaker Director General of IMD Dr Mrutyunjay Mohapatra warned about the hazardous impact of Global warming and climate change. Presenting the keynote address Managing Director of HURL, India Dr Siba Prasad Mohanty emphasised on the priority to protect our planet from environmental emergencies.

Other distinguished guests who attended the convention include Chief General Manager of HPCL Ramesh Chandra Bagh, senior administrators Gokul Patnaik and Dr. Sanjeeb Kumar Patjoshi. Addressing the gathering, the dignitaries emphasized on the urgent need for collective action to combat climate change through scientific innovation, environmental conservation, clean energy, responsible governance and active public participation.

Presiding over the Conclave the main Organiser and Chairman of SKFECT Dr. Bipin Bihari Mishra observed that protecting nature is a shared responsibility and the conclave was organized to promote dialogue, collaboration and recognition of environmental excellence.

Speaking during the Convention Co-Organiser and Secretary of SKFECT Dr. Sukanti Mishra, appealed the recipients of Paribesh Ratna Samman to continue their dedicated efforts vigorously to build up a greener and more sustainable India.

Noted vocalist Anindita Das conducted the proceedings of the meeting in a smooth and seamless manner. The programme concluded with a collective pledge by participants to maintain ecological balance and accelerate climatic action for the benefit of present and future generations.
