Puri (Odisha Tazanews) :- TPCODL Powers Rath Yatra 2026 with Zero Major Power Disruptions Across Puri TP Central Odisha Distribution Limited (TPCODL), a joint venture of Tata Power and the Government of Odisha, successfully ensured safe, reliable and uninterrupted electricity supply throughout Rath Yatra 2026, enabling the smooth conduct of one of the world’s largest spiritual gatherings.
This year, Puri witnessed an unprecedented influx of millions of devotees during Rath Yatra 2026, Despite the enormous operational demands, TPCODL maintained uninterrupted power supply across the city with zero major power disruptions. Months of advance planning, strengthening of substations and transformers, preventive maintenance, underground cabling, reinforcement of distribution lines and real-time network monitoring ensured uninterrupted electricity to the Shree Jagannath Temple,
Grand Road (Badadanda), Gundicha Temple, hospitals, police establishments, emergency services and other critical infrastructure. More than 800 engineers, officers, linemen and field personnel were deployed round the clock, with operations monitored through the Central Master Control Room at Talabania, the Digital Command Centre and multiple control rooms.
TPCODL also promoted clean energy through its Solar Awareness Stall near Gundicha Temple, where thousands of visitors learned about the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, the Utility-Led Aggregation (ULA) model, rooftop solar, smart meters, digital services, online bill payment, energy conservation and electrical safety.
