Department of Home Science Organizes Workshop on Mushroom Cultivation and Enterprise Development

Berhampur University (Odisha Tazanews) Berhampur :- The Department of Home Science successfully conducted Day 1 of the Two-Day Workshop on “Integrated Approach to Mushroom Cultivation – From Laboratory Concepts to Village Level Enterprise (IAMC-LCVLE 2026)”.

The workshop is being organized with the visionary leadership of Prof. Geetanjali Dash, Vice Chancellor, and Prof. Sukanta Kumar Tripathy. The inaugural ceremony was graced by the Chief Guest, Prof.

Hrusikesh Patro, Former Dean, College of Agriculture, Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology, Bhubaneswar, and the Guest of Honour, Dr. Sujit Kumar Nath. Their insightful addresses emphasized the importance of mushroom cultivation as a sustainable and income-generating enterprise.

The inaugural session was efficiently coordinated by Ms. Ashmita Beura and Mrs. Manasee Meher. Day 1 featured three technical sessions delivered by eminent resource persons, providing in-depth knowledge on scientific cultivation methods,

nutritional benefits, and entrepreneurial opportunities in mushroom production. The sessions witnessed active participation from students, scholars, and faculty members. Day 2 of the workshop included three hands-on training sessions at Radhamohanpur, popularly known as the Mushroom Village of India,

offering practical exposure to participants at the field level. Such initiatives reflect a meaningful step towards bridging academic knowledge with practical application, fostering self-reliance and innovation in the field of Home Science.
