Khurda Road division observed the Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi

30th Oct 2023 (Odisha Tazanews) Khordh-jatni :- Swachhta Pakhwada concluded. Remembering our India’s great freedom fighter the “Mahatma Gandhi ji” , Khurda Road division observed the Birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi at Khurda Road Railway station. Shri HS.Bajwa, Divisional Railway Manager, Khurda Road, Smt Gursimran Kaur, President, President, East Coast Railway Women’s Welfare Organization (ECoRWWO), Khurda Road, Branch officers and other members of ECORWWO, paid floral tributes to the photograph of Mahatma Gandhi.

Swachhata Pakhwada is being observed by Khurda Road division from 16th Sep. to 2nd Oct’2023 by conducting various cleanliness activities involving all the employees of the division. During the observance of Swachhata Pakhwada, drawing competition organized for the wards of Railway employees.

On the occasion of the closing of the Swachhta Pakhwada, Smt Gursimran Kaur, President ECoRWWO, awarded prizes to the winners. The House keeping staff were also awarded for their tremendious work during the Swachhta Pakhwada. On this occasion a Nukkad Natak on “Swachh Bharat” was conducted by the children of Bharat Scouts and Guides, khurda Road, to aware general public, about the importance of keeping environment clean. With an aim to encourage the disuse of plastic bags,

cotton bags were distributed to the vendors and passengers at Khurda road Railway station. Later, Shri HS.Bajwa, Smt Gursimran Kaur, ECORWWO members, officers, staff and Scout-guide children went on an awareness Rally at Khurda Road Railway station with the slogans of cleanliness. Shri Lingaraj Tripathy, Sr.Divisional Mechanical Engineer, Khurda Road and Smt Swadhinata Das, Divisional Mechanical Engineer (Coaching & Housekeeping)co-ordinated all the programmes of Swachhta Pakhwada.
