Odishataza News (19.5.2022) Cuttack  :-  Odisha Fire Service has achieved new milestone having at least one Fire Station in each block as per policy decision of Government. To-day i.e. on 18.5.2022, two pending blocks of the State i.e. Chandua under Kuliana block of Mayurbhanj District and Chitrakonda Swabhiman Anchal under Chitrakonda block of Malkangiri

District joined the mainstream by having own Fire Stations. With this flagship programm of the Government now all 314 blocks of the State are having at least one Fire Station. With the operation of the above two new Fire Stations at Chitrakonda and Chandua the total number of Fire Stations operating in the State has gone up to 341. Hon’ble Minister,

Revenue Shri Sudam Marandi and Hon’ble Minister of State ,Home(Ind.Charge) Captain Dibya Shankar Mishra inaugurated the aforesaid two Fire Stations today on virtual platform in presence of Shri Santosh Kumar Upadhyay, IPS, Director General, Fire Service, Odisha, Hon’ble M.L.A., Chitrakonda Shri Purna Chandra Baka and Collectors, Malkanagiri and Mayurbhanj . Government have sanctioned 15 numbers of staff for Chandua Fire Station on 15.2.2014. Similarly,

Govt. have sanctioned 15 numbers of staff for Chitrakonda Fire Station on 29.11.2021. Newly operated Fire Station at Chitrakonda will cater to the needs of Swabhiman Anchal of Malkangiri District. Collector, Malkangiri has already allotted land at Chitrakonda for construction of own Fire Station building with quarters. Similarly the land selected for Chandua Fire Station is awaiting forest clearance from local DFO.
