Bhubaneswar (Odisha Tazanews) :- Odisha AM/NS India Gymnastics High Performance Centre (Odisha AM/NS India GHPC) athlete, Karishma, won the silver medal in the Floor Exercise in the Women Artistic Gymnastics category at the Pharaohs Cup 2026, held from September 17–20, 2026 at the Cairo International Stadium,
Egypt. Recognised by the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) and organised by Egyptian Gymanstics Federation (EGF), the competition brought together 160 gymnasts representing 30 sporting entities and 13 countries, including India, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Malta, South Africa, Uzbekistan, New Zealand, Ukraine, Sudan and Hong Kong (China).
Two women athletes, Karishma and Tannu, represented Odisha AM/NS India GHPC at the prestigious event. For the young athletes, the Pharaoh’s Cup provided an important opportunity to experience diverse styles of gymnastics and benchmark their preparation against athletes from across the world.
Karishma delivered a strong performance in the Floor Exercise, qualifying for the final with a score of 12.100 and securing the silver medal with 12.066 in the final. Her podium finish marks a significant milestone in her international journey and reflects the progress achieved through consistent training and exposure at Odisha AM/NS India GHPC. She also qualified and competed in the Balance Beam final.
Both Karishma and Tannu had also competed in the Uneven Bars final, showcasing resilience against an international competition. In the qualification round of Uneven Bars, Tannu scored 10.050 and Karishma 8.900. In the final, both athletes improved their performances, with Karishma scoring 10.666 and Tannu 10.066. Their qualification across events provided valuable competitive experience and strengthened their preparation for future challenges.

The Pharaohs Cup 2026 adds another important chapter to the growing international exposure of the athletes. The Odisha AM/NS India Gymnastics High Performance Centre in Bhubaneswar supports the development of high-performance gymnasts through specialised coaching, training infrastructure and athlete support, with the objective of enabling Indian athletes to compete successfully at national and international levels.
