Raipur (Odisha Taznews) :- Raksha Bandhan was celebrated at Shri Jagannath Temple in Gayatri Nagar with much fanfare and massive magnificence. An extraordinary scene of faith, devotion and surrender was witnessed during the mega ceremony. Around 2100 mothers and sisters tied Raksha Sutra with the Lord of the Universe during the auspicious occasion.
Entire temple premises reverberated with the chants of “Jai Jagannath”, Vedic mantras and spiritual fervour. Special prayers were offered during Rakhi Purnima for the safety, dignity and empowerment of women. Several thousands of women devotees from different parts of Chhatishgarh gathered here during the celebration. Unprecedented interest, enthusiasm and excitements were visible among the participants of the programme.
Addressing the gathering main organiser, local MLA and President of the Jagannath Seva Samiti, Purandar Mishra, observed that offering of Raksha Sutra to Lord Jagannath is not limited to religious faith only, the lofty tradition actually demonstrates the sacred relationship between brother & sister, rich family values, love and respect for womanhood existing in the society. Matru Shakti prayed before Lord for the peace, pleasure , prosperity and protection of the state and the nation , Shri Mishra added.
He wished that let everybody live with love, goodwill and brotherhood by the grace of Lord . Distinguished dignitaries present include Rajya Sabha MP Laxmi Verma, former MP Saroj Pandey, BJP District President Ramesh Singh Thakur, BJP Mahila Morcha State President Vibha Awasthi, Raipur Mayor Meenal Choubey and Chairperson of the State Women’s Commission Mamata Sahu.
