Gurugram hosts Raja Mahotsava with Grandeur 

Gurugram (Odisha Tazanews) New Delhi :- India’s premier cultural institution Kalinga Bharti Foundation(KBF) hosted 8th Raja Mahotsava at Gurugram with much pomp and massive fanfare. The venue of the two days long glittering fiesta at community centre in sector-4 was meticulously decked up befitting to the grand occasion.

Aptly showcasing the central theme “Dekho Apna Desh” the Open Air Festival site was wearing the lavish look of a mini Odisha . A mammoth crowd of Odias and Odisha lovers numbering around fifteen thousand gathered on both the evenings of the ceremony. Notable among them were leaders of around 150 Odia Organisations, Representatives of Jagannath temples in Delhi and NCR and leading lights of other communities.

Gracing the Festival on the 1st day as Chief Guest M.L.A of Gurugram Mukesh Sharma inaugurated the Mahotsava. Resma Patel and Founder of Can Win Foundation Dr D.P.Goyal lauded the noble endeavours of Kalinga Bharti Foundation and its Founder National President Engineer Akshaya Kumar Samal in promoting, propagating and popularising both the rich art forms and vibrant cultural heritages of Odisha and Haryana.

Presiding over the function the main organiser Er Akshaya Kumar Samal declared that the sole goal of the Raja Mahotsava is to celebrate the plurality, cohesiveness and harmony of our great civilisation. The ultimate purpose is to build up Bikashit Bharat and Samruddha Odisha on the basis of love, humanity and brotherhood irrespective of caste, creed, religion and race, Er. Samal added.

The goodwill message of National Vice President of BJP and M.P. Baijayant Jay Panda wishing all success of the Mahotsava was read out during the occasion. The highlight of the two days long Mega Event was a spectacular cultural extravaganza entitled “Raja Kala Mahotsava” consisting of the power packed performances and creative presentations by more than 300 talented artistes from the states of Delhi, Odisha, Haryana, Rajasthan and Punjab.

The Mahotsava also featured music recitals by scintillating singers Santosh Rout, Babita Mishra, Abhipsa Rath and Madhumita Mohapatra. The cultural programme was ably co – ordinated and conducted by ace anchors Madhumita Mohapatra, Pralaya Bahali and Sujit Nanda. Other special attractions of Raja Milan this year were installation of 30 variety stalls, availability of authentic and mouthwatering Odia cuisines, provision of Raja Swing, distribution of Special Raja Paan, funfilled competitions like Rangoli, Jhoti, Fancy Dress, Odia lipi, Paintings and Lucky Draws.

While Manaswini Bastia was coronated with the crown of Raja Queen, Sriyanshi Behera was chosen as Raja Kumari alongwith 1st runner up Priyanshi Nayak and 2nd runner up Palkshi Behera. The selfie point displaying youngest Martyr of Indian freedom struggle Baji Rout’s Centenary Celebration was a major attraction for the visitors. Best CSR Award was presented to Ichiban Corp Science Limited for its spectacular social service activities. The award was received by Atulya Kumar Panda.

Prestigious Kalinga Ratna Awrad was given to eminent Educationist, Social activist and Guiness Book of World Record holder Dr Pankaj Kumar Jena from Balasore for his outstanding contribution in community development. Other prominent personalities who were felicitated during the functiofor their meritorious services include Odissi exponents Dr Vani Madhav and Dr Chandana Raul, Senior Journalist Nigamanand Prusty and noted comperes Madumita Mohapatra and Pralaya Bahali.

Haryana Kala Parishad of Government of Haryana, Ichiban Corp Science Limited and Akshay Mitra Foundation supported the holding of this Gala Cultural Jamboori.
