International Women’s Day 2026 Observed with Service Initiative at Red Cross Bhawan

Bhubaneswar (Odisha Tazanews) :- The Bichhanda Trust of Welfare, in collaboration with Santidham Foundation, observed International Women’s Day 2026 on 8th March 2026 at 11:00 AM at Red Cross Bhawan, Bhubaneswar. The programme was organized with the objective of supporting and encouraging visually impaired women and promoting dignity, inclusion, and social welfare.

On this occasion, 100 sarees and trays were distributed among visually impaired women to help fulfil their basic needs of “Anna and Bastra” (food and clothing) as a symbolic gesture of support and good fortune in their lives.

 

The programme was graced by Mr. Sannyashi Kumar Behera, Deputy Secretary to Government, SS&EPD Department, who attended the event as the Chief Guest and appreciated the initiative taken by the organizing institutions for empowering marginalized women.

During the programme, Mr. Prakash Kumar Mohapatra, Chairman of Bichhanda Trust of Welfare, was felicitated by Major Dr. Kalpana Das, Chairman of CWDs, in recognition of his exemplary social service and commitment towards the welfare of disadvantaged communities.

The public meeting was presided over by Miss Prangyan Paramita Behera, representing the Need Action Group of Volunteers. Speakers at the event highlighted the importance of collective social responsibility and the need to strengthen support systems for women with disabilities.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Prakash Kumar Mohapatra expressed his gratitude to all dignitaries, volunteers, and partner organizations for their support in making the programme successful. He reaffirmed the Trust’s commitment to continue working for the welfare, empowerment, and dignity of marginalized sections of society.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks and appreciation to all participants, volunteers, and supporters who contributed to the successful observance of International Women’s Day 2026.
