16th Dec, 2024 (Odisha Tazanews) Pune :-> In view of the large crowd expected to gather in the district to welcome the New Year and pay homage to the Victory Column, Pune Rural Superintendent of Police Pankaj Deshmukh has issued special security orders.
From the midnight of December 25, 2024 to the midnight of January 7, 2025, the authorized police officers will be able to take appropriate action for crowd control as per Section 36 of the Maharashtra Police Act, 1951.
Special arrangements for tourists and followers
This decision has been taken for the safety and order of the crowds that will gather on the occasion of the New Year in the limits of Paud, Lonavala and Haveli police stations as well as for the safety and order of the followers who will come to pay homage to the Victory Column at Perne Phata on January 1.
Regulation on crowds and processions
Police officers have been given the power to prevent crowds in public places and to issue orders regarding the routes and times of processions. They have been entrusted with the responsibility of ensuring that there is no obstruction on the roads or in public places.
Control over noise pollution
Powers have also been given to control the playing of musical instruments like drums, tambourines, horns in public places and to regulate the use of loudspeakers. Care will be taken to ensure that people are not disturbed due to such noise pollution.
Orders for public order
Police officers will take appropriate action to maintain order at ghats, dhakkes, temples and other public places. The act also states that action will be taken only after following the orders given under sections 33, 35, 37 to 40, 42, 43 and 45 of the Maharashtra Police Act. It is expected that these orders will provide a safe and orderly experience to the followers and tourists during the New Year and Vijaystambh Manavandane programs.
