Google Wellness Foundation launched to build a complete Eldercare Ecosystem in Odisha

 3^rd December 2024 (Odisha Tazanews) Bhubaneswar  : -> Google Wellness Foundation, a city based, not for profit entity to deliver hope and happiness to the elderly through compassion and care, has started its journey today. Registered as a Trust for rendering social services to varied sections of the society, the Foundation comprehensively aims to cover all aspects of seniors’ needs, who are living in isolation mostly.

 “It is observed that there are many isolated elderly people living a lonely life because either their children are staying abroad or are not taken care of. And there is a growing need to cater to the wide-ranging needs of the elderly, which have evolved dramatically in recent years due to fundamental socio-economic changes in the country” mentioned Bijay Patnaik, IAS (Retd), Ex Chief Secretary, Govt. of Odisha and the Chief Guest for the Launching Event.

Google Wellness Foundation is dedicated to stand by the elderly who feel deserted, isolated or in need. The mission is simple yet profound, to provide unwavering physical and emotional support to ensure they live their golden years with dignity, comfort and companionship.

Addressing the gathering, Pradipta Kumar Swain, Managing Trustee for Google Wellness Foundation said “We believe every elderly person deserves love, respect and assurance that someone is there for them. The Foundation is more than a service. We are a family. Our hands-on care, physical support ensures that elderly citizens never have to walk alone – be it need for medical assistance, support to buy daily essentials, transportation to places like hospital or bank, home support & care including home blood sample collection & health check-up etc.”

“Together, we lift the forgotten heroes, helping the deserted, isolated and needy elders thrive with dignity and grace. Turning isolation into companionship” he added. Pradipta Kumar Swain is the Ex Chief Executive Officer for WATCO, Odisha. Among others, Sanjay Pramanik, OFS (Retd.), Ex Special Secretary, Govt. of Odisha, Sarat Chandra Mishra, Water Sector Leader & Ex COO, WATCO, Govt. of Odisha, Smt. Saroj Nalini Parida, eminent Social Worker and the members of the Foundation were present during the Launching Event.
