14 Mar 2024 (Odisha Tazanews) Khurda :-> Khurda Road division has achieved the freight loading of 150 Million Tonnes in just 347 days in the current financial year i. e starting from 1st April 2023 to 12th March 2024. The division has achieved the milestone, 9 days before in comparision to last fiscal. It took 356 days to achieve the same target in the last financial year i.e in 2022-2023. The freight loading of 150 Million Tonnes added revenue of Rs 13,674 Crores to the administration.
A proper planning and coordination with Govt Sectors and Industries at all loading points of the Khurda Road division has contributed greatly for achieving the target. During the financial year 2023-24, Khurda road division has loaded 112.64 MT of Coal, 7.36 MT of Raw Materials to Steel Plants, 12.42 MT of Pig Iron & Finished Steel, 7.15 of Iron Ore, 4.09 MT of Fertilizers and 6.64 MT of other goods like Cement, food grains, Mineral oil etc.
The Khurda Road division has become the first and only divison over Indian Railways, to have handled a traffic of 277 Million Tonnes i.e both loading and unloading. During the period i.e from 1st April 2023 to 12th March 2024, the division has loaded 150 MT of freight and unloaded 127 MT. Shri H.S.Bajwa, the Divisional Railway Manager, Khurda Road, has appreciated the staff and officers for their day and night efforts in transporting essential goods and raw materials to various parts of the country to fulfil the requirement of stakeholders and the public.
